Using the SEOL mail server
|
The SEOL
mail server is for use by SEOL subscribers to
send and retrieve email while connected directly
to our system. The mail server is "open"
so that users can retrieve their email while
dialed into other systems. SEOL allows this as a
convenience for users who would like to check
their email while for example at work. On average
external retrieval of mail from the server should not exceed that of
usage by direct connection to the SEOL network.
To discourage users abusing the Mail
Server by using it only from other providers (this
increases our costs, and could cause access rates
to be increased) SEOL reserve the right to
disable the mail account or block access to it
from outside locations.
These measures have had to implemented
as this practice is becoming more common and is
impacting on the overall performance and cost of
the system.

Accounts

Block
Hours: As many subscribers in some cases
live hundreds of kilometers from our office, we
do not normally disconnect users if they expend
their hours. By logging onto the system, a
subscriber agrees to pay for any time used in the
event of their block hours expiring. It is a
subscribers responsibility to check their account
balance, this can be done on the homepage by
clicking the login button.
Monthly Plans: Monthly
plans are prepaid, If a subscriber on a monthly
plan logs into the system after their
sunbcription has expired, they agree to pay a
subscription fee for the month.
